A Lucid Dream
“Just a dream, Just
a dream, I’m given this power to withstand and compete not to escape, and I shall
never choose escapism if I’ve the power to fight, I’ll fight, and I’ll win,
here in the world of no rules except that one mastering rule: You’re capable of
anything, everything.”
I fought, and I
won. Then that dream came to an end, I was no longer paralyzed, that paralysis
accompanied with the REM sleep stage to prevent us from acting what we
experience in that parallel world, the dreamland.
I was aware that I
was in the dreamland, and I could control my dream. I managed to rescue myself,
and what was meant to be a nightmare turned to be the most outstanding
experience I’ve ever had, and at last I’ve tasted the meaning of being a lucid
dreamer!
A dream where
you’re aware you’re dreaming and you’ve the power to change your actions and
the whole scenery, this is the so called “Lucid dreaming” in the world of
psychology. Just think about how amazing this idea is and how it would like to
be to live in a world of your creation, where you taste the ecstasy of victory
and breaking the constraints every single moment, where you’re able to do what
is illogical here in the conscious world. Splendid! Not just splendid, it turns
to be useful in eliminating nightmares for those with frequent ones.
There are a lot of
techniques to have a lucid dream the most common: To do the reality check, by
asking yourself frequently “Am I awake?” this helps you realize you’re dreaming
when you notice something unfamiliar with the scene. Secondly, keep a dream
journal beside you, write down your dreams, your dreams are like your fingerprint,
after a while of recording your dreams you’ll get to know your dreams theme
that will help you to realize you’re dreaming.
However, the matter
of lucid dreaming is controversy, but not a myth, some psychologists believe it’s
true whether because they experienced or experimented it, through techniques of
measuring the brain waves and eye movement. Some others disagree with the
concept of lucid dreaming, they claim that this phenomenon isn’t a sleep state,
it is just daydream-like state of semi-wakefulness which turns to give the same
side effects as depriving from sleep, others claim that people who report the
ability of controlling their dreams, are just deceived by their brains but
actually they didn’t have this control or maybe they’re just lying, others
consider it a sleep disassociation where a person is both asleep and awake at
the same time in the dream state.
Although
psychologists, till now, can’t assert a scientific precise explanation to the
ability of controlling dreams phenomenon, for me, it turns to be as mysterious
as life and a powerful evidence for the reason of our existence.
“We, lucid dreamers, know we’re dreaming, we
control our dreams, we never let a vanishing dream master us, and we win
because we’re aware”
“We, believers,
know that’s just a dunya, a temporary station, we control it, we never let a
vanishing life master us, we win because we believe”
Taffakar!
